Booyco Engineering Supplies HVAC Systems to Tanzanian Mine

Booyco Engineering, a South African provider of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions, has completed a major supply deal with a mining operation in Tanzania. The company delivered 20 HVAC systems, along with installation kits and compressors, to a mine seeking to enhance operator comfort and equipment performance in the region’s high-temperature and humid conditions.

The order included ten A009 4 kW 24 V DC evaporator units and ten B009 7 kW 24 V DC condenser units. These systems are designed for heavy-duty mobile mining and construction equipment, including CAT349 excavators, Komatsu 325 dump trucks, and CAT770G haul trucks.

Booyco Engineering’s Managing Director, Brenton Spies, highlighted the need for robust and reliable systems in remote mining locations. “The remoteness of Tanzanian mining operations necessitates highly reliable HVAC systems that minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability,” said Spies. The company’s established track record in providing durable solutions for harsh environments was a key factor in securing the contract.

The Tanzanian mining sector, largely managed by international firms, adheres to strict health, safety, and operational standards. To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the new systems, Booyco Engineering also provided critical spare parts and technical support.
