Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, the Minister of State for Mineral Development of the Republic of Uganda, will be a keynote speaker at the upcoming Africa Down Under (ADU) conference in Perth, Western Australia. The event, a leading platform for connecting African mining and resources companies with global investors, will take place on 4-6 September 2004.
Minister Nyamutoro’s participation underscores Uganda’s commitment to attracting foreign investment in its burgeoning mineral sector. The East African nation is rich in a variety of minerals, including gold, copper, cobalt, and rare earth elements, making it an increasingly attractive destination for mining companies.
“Uganda offers a stable investment climate, abundant mineral resources and a supportive government,” said Minister Nyamutoro. “We are eager to showcase the immense potential of our mining sector to the global investment community at Africa Down Under.”
The Minister’s presentation will delve into the government’s initiatives to promote responsible mining, create jobs, and drive economic growth. She will also highlight specific investment opportunities available in the sector.
ADU brings together key stakeholders from across the mining value chain, providing a unique platform for networking, deal-making, and knowledge sharing. The conference is expected to draw a large audience of investors, mining companies, government officials, and industry experts.
