London-listed Blencowe Resources has signed a non-binding offtake agreement with UK advanced materials manufacturer Perpetuus Advanced Materials (PAM) for fine flake graphite from its Orom-Cross project in Uganda.
The deal covers 19,000 tonnes of +97% total graphite carbon (TGC) fine flake graphite over five years, a significant portion of Orom-Cross’s planned Phase 1 output of 10,000 t/y.
Blencowe noted that volumes may increase as PAM scales up production of plasma-treated, surface engineered graphenes and submicron particles for high-performance applications across sectors including tyres, fertilisers and battery storage. PAM uses a proprietary dry, environmentally friendly plasma process to convert fine flake graphite into high-value engineered materials. The agreement validates Orom-Cross’s graphite quality and strengthens Blencowe’s presence in Western markets.
“This is a key milestone for Orom-Cross, opening access to premium-paying Western buyers. Fine flake concentrate sales to Western markets currently fetch over $1,200/t, far higher than Asian prices,” said Cameron Pearce, Blencowe Executive Chairperson. The partnership also supports Blencowe’s potential eligibility for UK critical minerals funding, which favours domestic offtake linked to export supply chains.
PAM Chief Executive Officer John Buckland concluded, “This feedstock is crucial to scaling our graphene manufacturing and launching commercial products. It will also accelerate development of next-gen applications in aluminium, polymers and petrochemicals.” The deal follows Blencowe’s recent marketing roadshow across the UK, US and EU, with further offtake talks and product testwork ongoing.
